Start a Fundraiser

One of the crucial ways you can help support Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch is to host your own fundraising event, whether big or small, every donation helps to save animals’ lives!

We have put together some event guidelines that will help steer you towards a successful fundraiser.

Here are some event fundraising ideas to get you started:

  • Bake sale, garage sale, rummage sale or plain anything sale!
  • People and/or pet fashion show
  • Doggie walkathon
  • Dining benefit – we are a vegan/vegetarian organization and have strict policies around food endorsement. Please email Brenda Burke at brenda@jamesonrescueranch.org for more info
  • Movie night
  • Art or photography show/auction
  • Private dinner party
  • Garden/tea party
  • Halloween Scare-a-thon
  • Wine tasting! Well, we are in Napa!
  • Lemonade Stand

Events JARR cannot support:

JARR appreciates all your efforts on behalf of the animals. In order to ensure that we remain within our mission statement to rescue and provide relief for ALL animals including farmed animals, it is necessary to refrain from participating in or supporting certain activities that don’t support our mission.

Some examples are:

  • Fundraiser selling clothing made of animals i.e. fur, feathers and leather.
  • Lobster/crab feeds
  • Horse racing
  • Animal zoo and circuses
  • Sale of wild animals
  • Dinners where vegan and vegetarian options are not available
  • Hunting events

Please contact Brenda Burke, Manager of Community Outreach & Strategic Partnerships, at brenda@jamesonrescueranch.org to share your ideas for your fundraising event before you proceed. Following this conversation, you will be provided the right to use the JARR name and logo and receive any marketing support we are able to offer through our social media channels (if deemed appropriate).

Where possible, event ideas should be submitted at least 60 days prior to the beginning of your fundraising event.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT AND RECEIVE APPROVAL OF YOUR EVENT BEFORE YOU ARE PERMITTED TO USE THE JARR NAME, LOGO OR ANY PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS.

Your donation!

When planning your event keep in mind that JARR does not provide financial support for food, venue, and raw materials.  These can either be donated or absorbed by the fundraiser. We kindly ask that you donate 100% of the proceeds. All event planning, organization, costs, and liabilities are the responsibility of the host.

Individual donations are tax-deductible in the United States in accordance with applicable laws.  Donations made by check will be confirmed with an acknowledgment and receipt letter from JARR upon receipt of the donation. Checks should be made payable to “Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch.” JARR is a federally recognized 501c3 nonprofit #47-1230166.

JARR is only able to provide acknowledgment and/or receipt letters for cash donations of $50 or more.  For security reasons, JARR cannot accept cash through the mail. All cash donations received during your fundraising event or campaign should be collected and transferred into a personal check, money order, or bank check and sent directly to JARR. 

If your donors need receipts for cash donations, please provide a typed list of names and addresses of the individuals requesting documentation and the amount that each donated – this is the only way that JARR will be able to properly receipt cash donors.
